So I have bilstein 5100s for xj but valved way too soft. Called bilstein and they can revalve
5100s for 100.00 each. So started my search for perfect uptravel and down travel
for front at rear. I found skyjacker monotubes M9549 for front and M9528 for rear.
I was happy gonna get 12 inches in front at 10 in rear....
But problem is when I got the shocks they were not to Spec on their
own website. The fronts were 11.25 travel and collasped length was about 0.5 inches off.
The rear shocks were about 1 inch too long collapsed. Not even close to spec.
I called skyjacker and wasnt much help. They said what vehicle do you have, I said
I purchased these per there length specs. Bla bla bla, finaly the guy
at skyjacker said I have seen that spec off..... WHAT? ? He didnt really
care.
SO I shipped off my front 5100s to bilstein because they are the perfect fit.
Just a FYI on skyjacker shock specs. Luckly I returned to local store with no
issue..... I am sticking to bilstein...
