Below is a copy of an Email I received today, I am on the FS OHV mailing list. This event is a little bit to the north for me but I thought I'd pass it along. They are still needing ~ five more riders with street legal, dual sport bikes. Trails will be of the moderate to most difficult flavor. From what I understand, access will be from the 395 side and NOT from mount 99/ Sherman peaks road.

Sequoia National Forest NEEDS Volunteers for trail clearing this
weekend. Volunteers need off road capable street lgl. dual sport
mc's.

We will be assisting Forest Service personnel by swamping i.e.
clearing down tree and debris as saw operation will by FS personnel.

Minimum tools required but on/off road protective gear will be
mandatory including back pack with water and working gloves unless
you don't mind ruining expensive m/c riding ones, riding elevations
will be 7-10k' so lot's of layers of clothing including rain/snow
proof outer are recommended.

Only small groups will be involved and riders should have BLACK
DIAMOND trail capability as trails are mostly single track and very
technical in nature at Upper Kern Plateau (Kennedy Mdws).

Free campsites will be available at Fish Creek for volunteers. Bring
drinking water as test results still pending for potable water @
camp ground.

Working parties will meet at Black Rock Ranger Station Sat morning 8-
9am and are planning to work Sat. Sun and Mon.

Interested persons should contact myself, BILL Dennis or Bobby
Frenes @ his office leave message if he's out and he'll return your
when he returns from field.

The trails system is offically closed and will not open til the
remaining snow melts and debris is cleared which Bobby anticipates
to be mid June unless the late Winter returns again. Kern Plateau is
approx. 50 miles E/O Ridgecrest and road from Kernville is still
closed due to snow.

If you are interested please contact Bill Dennis or Bobby Frenes for particulars before heading out. Bill said that Bob is a little hard to get a hold of, but go ahead and give him a try first.

Thanks,
TIM
