Its been closed since the last rainfall. It was open since labor day. I live within walking distance of the main gate.

You can not go from Carnelian over to Lytle Creek. The only way in is fom Sierra Avenue. It is now an out and back road.

In that case, the trail is closed. I am only interested in running the Sapphire side and won't be driving around to see if its passable from Sierra. I have a gate key for the other side, but its not even worth going.

No, I checked it out in person a few days ago, it is definetely closed from my end.

X trail has my vote.
