i have a 95 with the 4.0 and i can't figure out why it runs so rough when its idling runs fine during normal driving but when i pull up to a light it wants to stall but just picks back up???
Sounds like the classic symptom for a dirty or faulty Idle Air Controller. Search the forums for IAC. Check for vacuum leaks and verify fuel pressure (although I'd tend to rule those out if it's running fine off idle). The IAC is attached to the throttle body by two small bolts and is easy to replace. If yours has a lot of miles on it, I'd recommend replacing it rather than cleaning the existing one. They tend to fail soon after cleaning unless you use cleaner and procedures safe for IACs.
