Roanoke VA, wrenching help Jan 13 + 14

Recruiting help for install of Tereflex 2" BB (spacers and shackles) on Jan 13 Friday and Jan 14 Sat if its not finished on Friday, but with help I cant imagine it would carry over to Sat.

I checked weather.com and it looks like mother nature will co-operate.

Ill be taking the helpers out to either lunch or dinner, depending on when we get done. This would be a good oppertunity to help a retard out, and get some Jeep owners together.

If your interested in helping, please post up.

I'm in Charlottesville and a buddy of mine is near Roanoke. I hope to be free the 13-14th and I've done that lift before. PM me if you still need help.

Edit: Also, might as well make sure you have good power drill, bits and a tap and die set as well as some replacement shock bolts handy.

Working 75.6 hrs of overtime a pay period at the Roanoke airport after putting in my 80 at mine,getting divorced, sleeping on couches for three weeks, etc. That, and my computer's power supply died.

Yup, life's been interesting, but the XJ hasn't let me down. I know another guy near Roanoke. What say we get together and help this guy out? Then we can put on our childish grins and go play in the mud!

Kevin, you think Im gonna jinx myself by having all that shit ready? :) If necessary, I can have everything but the taps. What would I need taps for? Jesus, is this gonna be a full day project?!?!

I got AutoZone and Advance near me if we do need replacement bolts.

So, who can come and on what day, and what time? PM me and Ill send you some phone numbers to reach me.

PS Someone else can supervise, as long as Im still in charge. :)

I should be good for the 13th if all goes well at court tomorrow (don't ask), and the first half of the 14th if necessary if I can get my company rate at the Windham. If you don't hear from me tomorrow, assume the worst.


Did you start PBing yet?
The tap&die set and the shock bolts are typically necessary in the rear (the bolts break off). See if you have a 1/4 ratchet and extension with a 1/2 and 9/16 sockets (If I remember correctly it's one or the other) that way the ratchet or extension will probably give before the bolt and we'll know if we're in bad.

Brute, just PMed with Dew, hes coming for moral support and to fetch water. :) Ill need a set of spring compressors to help it go smooth, from what I gather. Do you have some you can bring, or need I rent them?

I'd just buy the spring compressors. They're $20 to rent or $25 to buy at Advance, and then you can use 'em again for free if need be. Be careful with them, though. Spring compressors are convienent, but potentially deadly if used wrong.

I'm afraid I won't be able to make it myself. I'm going to jail for 30 days on the 23rd and need to take care of some things first. (I had a DUI 8 years ago and got another one Thanksgiving night. Court was today and VA considers you a repeat/habitual offender if you get more than one in a 10 year span.) Send cigs, porn and Johnny Cash albums to BruteXJ c/o the Amherst Co. Jail.

On the upside, my ex drove me to/from court and gave up some "sympathy" when we got back to her place. Life's not all bad.
