Rear wheel noise 01 xj

I have an rear wheel noise that i am trying to track down. It is a thumping/whooping noise that is louder at lower speeds & it makes the noise in both acceleration & deacceleration. It also gets loud when i am turning left & into an left curve. Could this be an wheel bearing?

Jack it up and check for free play in the wheel. If it's on accel & decel, check your U joints.

check your u joints. mine was just doing the same thing and the rear drivehshaft u joint was no bueno. it sounded like my rear was going to blow up
