RC Crawlers

Anyone else an RC Crawler dork in Sierra?

I got an Axial AX-10 when I was in Kansas. All I've done is trim the body a little and run it. I did pick up a new set of tires on Monday, white dot something or others.

I had two yards of different size cobbles dropped off last week and made a little rock pile behind my trailer so I can rock crawl in my back yard.

Still got my Nylint Scorpion kicking around. My dauighter loves it, she puts all her barbies in it and drives around the house.

I have a axial Scorpion with a few goodies and I bought a rs-10 off Ebay for my son to learn with..I also have a small rock garden in the front of my place, nothing crazy but it keeps us busy.

the rock garden at home

I've got an xr-10 I finally pulled back out of the closet. I forgot how much fun 1-10th scale wheeling can be. Tho 5.5 in tall tires on the rc is like 55 in tires on the jeep....

Man, I'm so out of date, all I have is one of the old 12 volt orange Wrangler crawlers they used to sell at Walmart somewhere close to the turn of the centry. :dunno: I think I got it when Kevin (WesternXJ) was still living/wheeling down here! I always thought I'd take up and play during one of the SierraFests. But i forgot to grab it each time I went. It still works tho. I just tested it today in my back yard, around my under construction retaining walls. It can't climb dirt or gravel worth a crap. But does okay on the cement blocks.

Wow, now that is cool!

Thanks. I lost my a$$ selling that one.

Sounds like an old Nylint?

Here's what you guys REALLY want! Great crawler and a little speed.

Been following axial for a while now.. Here's my take on the wraith. IT'S AWESOME! But... Do you want a crawlerr or a go fast. Cause it's not too quick, and is geared to high for great crawling. I used to race 1/10 scale buggy... I can't imagine dumping 300 + into a car that just crawls, I have a Jeep for that.

I guess for each his own. It's cool, but I'd rather get a true crawler.. If you wait till June, axial is having a huge event at Cisco Grove exit (fordyce entrance)

thats pretty cool, but i would prefer an xj body.
how are these axial rigs? i don't know squat about rc cars.
are they durable? how long will it run on a charge?
will it withstand my rottweilers biting & slobbering on it? :jester:

Yes, they're Axial. In my opinion Axial is the best out there. Lot's of aftermarket goodies.

Very, very durable. Run time depends on battery size and type. A standard NiCad 3000mah battery will last about an hour.

Video from the Portland International Auto Show. These rigs took 3 days of constant abuse and only suffered one broke bumper and a drive line.

RPP Hobby is the BEST online hobby shop bar none.

If you want an XJ or MJ. Buy the SCX-10 kit and add the body. That simple.

I have lots and lots of hours on my AX-10 with no mods except a set of tires I got around New Years. I have bounced it down my rock pile several times, no issues. I got the "Ready To Crawl" kit so it has plastic links and steering. Oh, I guess I did swap the servo saver for the included plastic pitman arm.

I usually get tired or run out of beer before I kill the 3000 mah battery. I get a couple play days out of a charge.
