Project resurexj

UPDATE: to power my accessories I hacked up the fuse box from my old xj and this was the result.

Through standard circuit test procedures, I moved / permanently installed terminals where they needed to be to activate relays. I'm still on the fence with where to mount it, dual batteries, amped alternator, deep cycle/ AGM blah blah blah but there you go.

UPDATE: today I tore down the old xj for the parts I put into it.

I made it through my 241 t case swap and I got the LR leaf taken out. It should also be written in xj lore that all of my leaf bolts on the left side came out without any crazy extraction methods. I know that the right rear shackle bolt both come out also because I've already installed RC shackles. There is one bolt that stands between me and legend status lol JK just super lucky. I have IRO track bar, 3 inch no name springs up front and 2 inch shackles in the rear. I could and may start my bastard pack to level it out. I also have RC control arm drop brackets that I'll likely be putting on tomorrow and a RE steering stabilizer also. Some pics below.

Update day 2: 3 inch lift done. Have some adjustments to make with the track bar and drag link but some kinks are to be expected.

Update: I'm not destined to own nice things. Went down a local trail and 4wd got stuck. Got back to discover that my trans tunnel literally ripped above my shifter linkage. And having a rotted floor board really makes the linkage sloppy. That being said I know I'm not the first one to not have rockers floorboards or a tunnel tear. I saw cheap pans on c2cfabrication so I'll probably do that but the tunnel is a very scary concept for me to grasp. I'm a nut and bolt guy. Not much of a fabricator especially since I plan on my center console going back in where I found it. Does anyone have tips or insight on tunnel replacement? Also if all goes well, i plan on more lift this weekend.

Don't let it intimidate you, just take your time and measure twice, cut once. When welding the new one in, make sure you unhook your battery. The key to any body work is to take your time and proper preparation.

Thanks for the support. Ive opted for aftermarket tcase linkage to free up some stress put on the tunnel area for the time being. But since my last post ive added my bastard pack and some spacers to get some more height. Ive been feeling a bit tall lately and needed it fixed. So i have 5 up front and an unknown amount on the rear. What is the measurement between axle centerline and apex of the wheel wells? Id like to know what i got from my s10 pack.

UPDATE: got the xj on 3" springs 2" blocks up front, IRO track bar and track bar drop bracket. Rubicon express control arm drops. I'm using 6 inch skyjacker shocks because I really couldn't find anything for a 6 inch that was better:/. I took the whole s10 leaf pack including the anchor overload springs and 2 inch shackles in the rear. Used dodge Dakota brake hoses.... Not recommended in the rear. Autozone had some units for the rear axle in stock! For my drive line I have an np242 with an IRO hack-n-tap and front xj driveshaft (was almost too long!) Assuming my front spring haven't sagged yet at all ( and it doesn't appear to have) it is level. It just doesn't look like it. The truck is still on 31 inch general red letters. It doesn't do mud well. My axles are my downfall, er my tire size depending on what side of the fence you're on. I'm kind of leaning towards seeing if lockers can make my current setup work. I'm not super into the idea of dumping 1600 bucks on 2 lockers. So I've been digging through all of the internet and came across an economical option for the Dana 30 and found a volvo g80 LSD. I have heard some testimonials and nothing much was said about it other than it works. Anyone here have any experience with the g80? And are there options for the 8.25?

Throw in a couple lunch box lockers n wheel the bag off of it. I ran Powertrax lunch box lockers n ran 36's for years. You should be able to do that for well under $800 total. You could use an Aussie, Spartan or some other flavor too, but they are all very similar. Contact Brianho13 on here, he owns HD Offroad Engineering and can get you the NAXJA deal.

They are streetable, just suck on ice.....but what non selectable locker doesn't?

As far as I can tell the only difference between lunchbox lockers is the name. It doesn't really even seem that quality makes a difference much between companies.
