Power window coil/tube thingy

I've got a 98 with the ds front window not moving (doesn't work with the switch... I can push it by hand freely). It has come disconnected where the coil/cable/tube deal meets the top of the center window regulator.

Does anyone know how it's attached to the window where they meet? Can it be fixed... pushed together... welded... rebolted.. etc? Or do I need to replace something?

Any input on this would be very greatly appreciated.

Did the cable break? That's the most common problem.. and you have to buy a new regulator assembly if that's the case.

Sounds like the window regulator so you have two choices buy one for around $200 or follow this thread and fix it alot cheaper

I did some searching on google and found a free fix. I'm going to give this a try before I spend any money on it....

Used the technique described in the above link tonight... Took about an hour and a half and the window works fine. Free fix that should hopefully last a lifetime.

I was reading that the stealerships get as much as $475 to fix this with the weak factory part! Crazy.
