DO: Follow the provisions religiously. You not only have a duty to understand your bylaws, you a legally accountable for following them. This is not optional. A court of law will side with your bylaws in any dispute brought by another board member, an employee, volunteer or recipient of services who may have a grievance.

The National BOD has discussed this and the interpretation of the bylaws is that there is one vote per paying member.

Just like the Bible, the bylaws can be interpreted in many different ways. I just did a search and found this interpretation to go back to discussion from 2007, before any of us was even on the BOD.

Clarification was also requested in May when there was an the audit of members. The clarification again then was that there is only one vote per paying member.

The audit was long over due and there were several people that were voting that had expired memberships, that hadn't be caught by membership or the forum. The past can't be undone.

For the record there were 4 or 5 spousal memberships that were caught in the audit. No one is picking on anyone.

Where is that change or clarification available to the members?

Where is the change in the bylaws to the status of "membership"?

Just got done searching the "BOD Minutes" from around May.....and I see no discussion.
