The wife and I are planning a Vegas trip in October. Wanting to know if anyone here has been to these hotels recently:

-New York, New York
-Mandalay Bay
-Caesars Palace

Just looking for input about the Coaster noise and overall condition of the NY,NY

We've stayed at the Mandalay Bay before and liked it ok.

We know nothing about Caesars but pricing is good and website pics look nice.

Also we're both VERY non smokers and having a room even remotely close to smoking rooms can ruin our stay.

Whatcha Got?

I'm a big fan of the Palazzo, all of the rooms are suites, smack dab in the middle of the strip, casino, sportsbook and pool are really nice. Venetian is the sister hotel right next to it.

I've heard the Cosmo is the new hot thing, haven't been there yet. Probably more expensive than the standard Vegas rooms though.

Yeah we're not looking for that level of hotel..... $400/night is way beyond our budget. We don't gamble either..... We go for the restaurants and shows.

when i stayed 2 years ago i was at the tropicana. i stayed in a newly remodeled room (they were remodeling the place as we were staying there) and it was CHEAP and great. friendly staff, great rooms, couldnt have asked for more. its at the end of the strip so you'll need to walk or grab a cab but me and my buddies didnt mind. we didnt spend much time there outside of sleep and some poolside lounging.

I was in Vegas last Aug for CGE2k12 WE stayed in Old Town/Downtown @ the plaza.
CP is a nice place, lots of shopping if you are in to that kind of thing. Ha.

I've stayed at NYNY before and had a spa suite that was right next to the coaster. Never really noticed an issue with the noise that weekend. But I was also pretty pre-occupied with the girlfriend and booze. NYNY is a decent hotel, good location, but gets very busy.

Monte Carlo next door is a little nicer and a little slower, but priced just about the same.
