Comment on Tahoe National Forest’s Intent to Prepare an Environmental Impact Statement

Tahoe National Forest published a Notice of Intent to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) in the Federal Register on April 11, 2007. The EIS will analyze the impacts of specific proposed changes to Off-Highway Vehicle management on the Tahoe National Forest. The Forest will also host three public meetings (information below) about the proposal.

Please take the time to review the proposal and make sure that your favorite routes are included. If Forest Service officials do not know about your favorite trails and areas they cannot include them. If you do not let them know about routes that are not currently included on their inventory maps, riding these routes will be illegal when the route designation process is complete.

The public comment period will close on May 14.

Comments can be emailed to [email protected] or mailed to:
