OBD II not reading

Replying to "jldiaz", the only pins that match up on the OBDII port and my scanner are #16 (power) and 5 & 7. I'll try and follow wiring diagrams to hard wire around the harness. No something I'm looking forward to trying.

I'm trying to resolve a problem with my new VAG-COM hex-cam +can interface ment for VW-Audi cars but supposed to be ISO9141-2 compatable and that's what a 96 xj is. As soon as I turn on the ignition my interface goes bonkers. I've contacted Uwe at Ross-Tech and he tells me that pin 4 [ground], pin 7 [k-line], pin 15[l-line] and pin 16 [12volts]are all that's needed. Do you know what other wires we have in our obdii plugs?
