My 96xj threw a code #72 Catalytic Converter Circuitry. Has anyone else ever had one of these codes thrown, and what was the problem? The Haynes manual says to take it to the dealer...no thanks! I have 151,000 miles on the xj, and replaced the cat with a high flow probably about 30-50k miles ago. Could the 'aft' O2 sensor throw this code? I think it's the original one. I have changed the one in the header. I checked all the wires at both O2 sensors and all appears to be in good order (no burns or chaffing on the insulation). I thought maybe there was a short somewhere. It appears to be running fine. I just have that damn check engine light!
