Obama being tried for treason?

Um, how about this. There is NO Federal requirement to own a car, or to drive.
So, it may be an inconvenience, but IF you don't own a car(ask all those people who live in Manhattan without cars) you don't have any requirement to buy auto insurance.

So what would be a similar "out" to not get health insurance? Just stop breathing, I guess.
More importantly car insurance isn't a federal requirement.

You are required by law to have a minimum level of insurance. You can choose to increase that level of insurance, but there's still a minimum mandated level required. Seems to me that isn't much of a choice.

And I'm pretty sure that you aren't paying anything for me.

BIG difference between a state mandated insurance program if you wish to take advantage of the PRIVILEGE of operating a motorized conveyance on public roadways. You have the CHOICE of not driving on public roads, of not owning a motor vehicle, and of not purchasing the insurance.

For the Uber-federales to MANDATE, UNDER THREAT OF FINE AND/OR IMPRISONMENT for you to purchase a product that you may not want, from a private insurance company??

FAWK NO!

Liberal Socialist Democrat Zombies just don't get it. The word is FREEDOM. I can understand LSD Zombie ignorance of it, as other people always have to pay for it with their blood.

Vote MILITIA 2010.

To the deaths of the railroads. It also has increased the mobility of the average american to travel this country.

But it also put massive numbers of returned vets to work, those that did not take advantage of the GI bill at any rate. I remember the battles that went on when Rt 80 was being built and where the exits were going to be.

New Hampshire does not require car insurance either so it's a good state to be careful in when you drive there.

I said it before, I am so dissapointed with Nancy Pelosi as my representative that I voted for Cindi Sheehan to replace her. That doesn't matter anymore, I just moved out of her congressional district.

You are screwed in California. Your options are full-blown Socialist or ultra-Liberal.

It's not a federal requirement, and it's not a requirement that we purchase insurance through the exact same company as every other person in this country.

and I pay my taxes just like everyone else. off $40k income and I get absolutely raped by taxes, so yes, I am putting money into a system that will supposedly benefit you and the rest of the country.

I'm not a constitutional lawyer, but prefer to think that the "United States" means the "people".

The wording of the 10th Amendment (and other places in the Constitution) means that "United States"=the nation, "people"=citizens.

The federal government's job, according to the Constitution, is to make sure that the states have a safe and fair environment to take care of each of their citizens and to make sure that the citizens are left alone by the national government. The founders were very supicious of strong national government and are probably rolling in their graves over the professional politicians we have now. If you notice under the powers of Congress, there's not even supposed to be a standing army for more than 2 years. The founders were very careful and specific with their choice of words.
