Hi, My name is Dave. Just picked up my first XJ last week. I've had 2 YJs and a TJ prior to getting the XJ. I was directed here by a fellow member of the neow.org site.
No my problem.
I've got some rattle coming from my 4wd lever. Same problem happed in my old TJ a couple of years ago.
I'm confident that the issue is with the bushing for the t-case and that the "transfer case bushing repair kit" would be the fix.
Transfer Case Bushing Repair Kit
Chrysler Part #05014148aa
Tj/xj
My question is on the process of completed the replacement of the bushing.
Is there a how-to out on the site? I've searched and couldn't find anything. I called the dealer. The kit is $22.00 and the TSB states that it should take .6 hours. I'm thinking I should be able to do it myself since I'm somewhat of a driveway mechanic.
Can anyone point me in the write direction with some instructions?
I've seen the autozone repair info/FSM info and I'm sure I'll be using that as a guide.
Thanks,
Dave
