NEEDED ASAP: d35 c-clip axle

xjjeeper19 said:
not to mention that the socket that is welded on the back is pretty much useless because the stud is both a press fit, and it is splined into the axle flange....
it spins in the rear..... i welded the socket on to keep it from spinning... but i got a husky 1/2" impact socket/compressor... it just wont do it

ok, two breaker bars, one on the welded socket, and one on the lug nut, that should break it.

guess i'll have to go buy a second 1/2" socket and find another jack handle..... of course i cant find my breaker bar....

can applying heat do any help?

That'll work as long as they're not cross threaded
i think it is cross threaded....

Dunno. I would just stick with cutting. You're probably gonna have to replace the axle anyway if the splines have gone flat.

I'm goin to bed dood g-nite. Gimme a call maybe I can help 2morrow

just get out the old grinding wheel and grind the head off the back of the stud, why are you messing with welding things to it?
