Ok SoCal. We have a large group of people so I am sure I will get lots of very good answers.

It's time to buy a new mattress for our bedroom (California King). Where do you guys go for the best deals? My buddy said Macy's when they have a mattress sale (almost every weekend, haha). What say you?

Sam's Club and Costco have the best deals, often will do free shipping, best warranties, and best return policies. I just got a new Cal King memory foam mattress from Sam's for $600 with free shipping. Everyone else I looked at that had the same mattress was $1200+ and that didn't include shipping. The down side (which is a huge one) is that 90% of the mattresses they sale are online only and you can't go into the store on lay on them, so you really don't know how they feel until it shows up on your portch. Our 12" memory foam mattress (made by Boyd) was a gamble, but so far it has been incredible. I have two slipped discs in my back and have cronic back pain. Once I went from the traditional spring mattress to the memory foam my pain dropped significantly. It just takes a couple weeks to get used to. Here's the website of the co. I went with via Sam's website.

Here's the specific bed I purchased:

What type? I think I got our Temperpedic at Banner.

I got my solid Memory Foam mattress at Costco. It's a queen, which is quite a bit cheaper than the King, but they run coupons sometimes.

And don't mess with any other kind of mattress, Andy... On my old (admittedly crappy) mattress, if I slept for more than 5 hours, I had to roll out of the bed and crawl somewhere to sit up for a while before I could stand. And this was even when I was sober!! LOL.

This mattress instantly stopped that pain & agony, and it's just been awesome. One or another of my kids keeps my mattress company (by sleeping in it) when I'm away for the night, even though they all have the memory foam toppers on their beds. And I've had it for about 5 years now.

Also, Costco--you don't like it? Bring it back!! Harder to transport back, of course, as these mattresses come in a box the size of a midsized suitcase, and then expand once you un-vacuumseal them.

If your looking at macys jackie works there and gets 20% off, I personally have never had a nice bed, so I can offer no opion, but my parents have a sleep # bed and my dad has a horrible back. It has not gone out since they had the bed(he is nealy 70) hth

Peace
Ted

I had a sleep number for about seven years. It was great for the first few, but then I started having problems with it losing air, the pump going out, sagging in the middle (wtf?) - their customer service is HORRIBLE. WOULD NOT BUY AGAIN.

Last year I went to Custom Comfort Mattress in Fullerton. Let me tell you, those are some of the most comfortable beds you will ever find. At least do yourself the favor of checking them out.

I dont know where mine came from but it has a adjustable air mattress beneath a memory foam surface and my back pain has gone bye bye

Got me a King bed and mattress from IKea. It was a little under a grand for everything and the mattress is a memory foam. Its comfy and i sleep like a baby. I forget the name but it was the 2nd least expensive one they had. I layed down on both and couldnt tell the difference.

Temperpedic is Not Cheap, spent about 2300.00 for it. My orthopedic surgeon suggested it. If You have a bad back, or if You just like to have a good nights sleep, I can honestly say it's the nicest bed I have ever slept in, and will never have anything else.

costco or sams club..
