I have a gift cert for 50 bucks to master pull. I could probably use a new line, but their 50' of 5/16" rope is 234 bucks!

Thats the price for the Superline, which is a much higher quality winch line than any other basic winch line such as Amsteel Blue.

An MP Basic 5/16" x 50' winch line w/ a hook is $128.

Thanks for pointing that out. I'd want at least 100' anyway, which is what I have now. Which is $218. My current line also has the rock gard on it, another 20 something.
