As for hauling with a 2 " lift, its the fact I dont want to haul 4000lbs of trailer and horses on a 3" lift that is more the issue at hand. I am thinking safety at 2" is not as much an issue than higher lifts.
I've been running a 2 inch lift for a few months until I can add on and it works just fine on trails. I went with 2" spacers up front and a 2" adjustable shackle out back (can be adjusted to 1 1/2" or 2") and I got it all for under 100 dollars. Best 100 bucks I've spent. I also added the proper amount of bumpstop and trimmed the fenders so I wouldn't rub my tires. I did it all in under 4 hours, so you just need an afternoon.
