LEAF SPRING REFERENCE

NAXJA Forum User
I've spent the day combing threads for info on OEM rear leaf springs for the XJ. Someone else may find this helpful. A grain or three of salt is needed on specs, I'm relying on other Jeepers in main.

There are [8] part numbers listed by Ma Mopar for the 2001 XJ:

1] ZPS/ZUS 52000-050AB Standard Duty coded LB
(no other info)

2] ZFT/ZUT 52000-051AB Standard Duty coded LC, EC
3-1/8" free arch, 405# rated (standard 2WD)
QUADRATEC Standard Duty 56010.12

3] ZGU/ZVU 52000-707AB Heavy Duty coded LM
5-5/8" free arch, 605#

4] ZFU/ZUU 52000-706AB Standard Duty coded LN, ES
6-5/8" free arch

5] ZGS/ZVS 52000-544AB Heavy Duty coded LK
(Either 5-1/8 or 5-3/4") free arch, 575#
QUADRATEC Medium Duty 56010.10
JEEP 4886187

6] ZGT/ZVT 52000-545AB Heavy Duty coded LZ, EL

7] ZGV/ZVV 52000-390AB Heavy Duty coded LS
6.0" free arch, 675#
JEEP 4886185 (CROWN H-D; 6-3/8" f/a?)

8] ZGW/ZVW 52000-329AB Up Country (+1" height) LT code
7.0" free arch, 755#
QUADRATEC Heavy Duty 56010.11
JEEP 488186

JEEP TSB (NOV 1996) "Leaf Springs Sagging/Low Ride Height" may have info on spring rates, etc.

I'll post more if I find it.

Second job today is to hopefully find rate info on the fifteen [!!] coil springs posted for XJ's by Mopar. I'd like to change the rear springs from 405# to 575#, but, as I have a 2WD I'm stumped at this point as to what front spring to change to. This XJ may have a little towing to do in the future, so a slight rate increase would be helpful. (If I find nothing else, maybe a new set of ZFT's plus a full-length AAL and straight replacement front springs, hmmmm. Or, since I'm already running OME shocks/stabilizer maybe I'll give Dirk a holler and let him ponder it for me. He already thinks I'm half-nuts [probably] for this being the second 2WD I've changed this to).

Good luck with your searches.

Anyone else find other info on MOPAR, CROWN, QUADRATEC or other (HUSKY?) suppliers as to rates, other data?

Does anyone have this TSB info:

JEEP TSB (NOV 1996) "Leaf Springs Sagging/Low Ride Height"

Since the Crown springs are replacements for factory springs, and Quadratec sells Crown springs, all three will have the same numbers, codes, dimensions, rates, etc. It's been covered once or twice.

My leaf have flattened out and will to be replaced soon. I got a pair from Pick-N-Pull for $25 each. There part number is RPN706AB 2877 and from a 1999 limited. As I was reading about leaf part numbers I was not able to find my leafs part numbers anyway. Not even in the 2001 XJ parts catalog ! Now I'll thinking thay may not tobe on a XJ. Can anyone help me put this to rest ? The Leaf spring part numbers are RPN548AB 1521

If it was adequately cross-referenced I would agree, but as it wasn't "covered" the above information was posted.
