At least you didn't shear a shaft, explode a r&p, or bend tubes. I'd take u-joints breaking any day over the other links in the proverbial chain!

If you are running tires over 35"...I would start thinking about a HP44 or bigger (60) depending on what size tires you are running or plan on running.
As so many other parts that you have or will buy for your jeep...you will never get your money back out of the axles (whether you use the alloys in the d30 OR you do an axle upgrade)
