Wax was something that no one ever used on my Chief... That would explain why the paint is falling off the hood, the roof, and a few other spots. ;-)

damn!!thats identical to the 89 pioneer i had in 96.... great truck.... the worst oxidized red paint i had ever seen...... had to wax it just to keep it from gettin all "chalky" ........
