Ok, I changed out my guage gluster on my 1986 Comanche, :wave:THAT HAS A 2.5L,:looney: for an 1988 XJ 4.0 cluster. The tach, fuel and spedometer works.
BUT the volt meter, water and the oil pressure guage dosent. I did change out my old oil pressure sending idiot lite unit for a gauge unit instead, and still no worky.
Should I have gotten a O.P. unit for an 1988 insted of a 1986?

Your cluster could be faulty.

You should also have to change out the water pressure sender for a sensor as well.

I'd start by chasing down the grounds.

Gauge type clusters need the proper sending units. Of course the oil pressure & water temp don't work.

Yeah, the mopar sending units are diff for 2.5 with idiot lights and with guages. As for the Voltmeter, take the others advice and chase gounds.

starting a thread in mod tech needs to be placed lower on your list than double checking your own work.
2/3rds of your problems are solved once you swap over those sensors and double check grounds/gauges.
