Healthcare Reform? They lie so much, they're unable to recognize TRUTH!

One of my state's reps voted no! Not mine, unfortunately...

Both of NH's reps voted yes? WTF? What the hell happened to "live free or die"?

They no long believe in the Constitution......it's not that hard to see.

I was in DC over the weekend for school, and noticed that their license plates all say

Taxation without Representation

I know this represents the fact that the District is unrepresented in Congress, but I can't help but feeling like its a slogan for everything going on in that city these days.

If they get this legislation in place, it opens up the governments ability to contol even more of our lives and take over more industry. It's right out of the Socialist Playbook.

Completely agreed. In every country I've ever lived in with socialistic forms of government, this is how they do it - piecemeal grabs that consolidate state power.

Expect that gun control is approached in the next few years as a public health menace. The Brady Campaign (and others) have been trying to figure out how to make that one stick for over a decade, and now they have the foothold to do it by.

So much for all of Obama's talk of bipartisanship...this passed strictly along Democratic party lines. Not a single Republican voted for it. In fact the only bipartisanship was in the opposition. 178 Republicans and 34 Democrats.

The Irony of this progressive reform that the dem's have created for themselves is that progressivists originally formed to reform current governmental practices and reduce corruption within the G. Who can you trust if the people looking to eradicate corruption become corrupt?

Mike, the answer to that is another government program to eradicate government corruption. The answer is ALWAYS another government program, don't you know that?

Voters continue to give Congress some of its lowest marks ever.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 11% of voters rate Congress’ performance as good or excellent, a range it’s been hovering in since late 2007.

But 64% say Congress is doing a poor job. The good news is that’s a seven-point improvement from last month’s 71%, the highest negative grade recorded in over 40 months of tracking. The bad news is that 64% is the second worst grade the legislators have earned in that same time period and is up 21 points from late March a year ago.

It’s important to note, however, that this survey was taken Friday and Saturday nights – before the House’s 219-to-212 vote to pass the controversial national health care plan proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats.

As Scott Rasmussen notes in his new book, "If we ever found a Little League team behaving as poorly as the Republicans and Democrats or the congressman and senators, we’d probably disband the team and go home. Heck, we might even disband the entire league and bulldoze the field.” In Search of Self-Governance is available from Rasmussen Reports and at Amazon.com.

Forty-one percent (41%) think most members of Congress are corrupt, a view while 33% disagree. Another 26% are not sure.
Eighteen percent (18%) of voters now say Congress has passed legislation that will significantly improve life in America. Fifty-seven percent (57%) disagree. Twenty-five percent (25%) more are not sure.

On the eve of the House health care vote, just 40% said that Congress is at least somewhat likely to seriously address the most important issues facing the nation. Fifty-five percent (55%) said that was not likely to happen.

Seventy-six percent (76%) think most members of Congress are more interested in their own careers than in helping people. Just 12% say most in Congress are more interested in helping people.

Just 20% of voters think most members of Congress understood what is in the health care plan before they voted on it.

Sixty-three percent (63%) of all voters nationally now think it would be better for the country if most incumbents in Congress were defeated this November. Just 27% of voters say their representative in Congress is the best possible person for the job.

The Political Class is far more enthusiastic about Congress’ performance. While 77% of Mainstream voters say Congress is doing a poor job, 53% of the Political Class rate its performance as good or excellent.

Eighty-one percent (81%) of Republicans and 72% of voters not affiliated with either major party say Congress is doing a poor job, a view shared by just 42% of Democrats, whose party currently controls both the House and Senate. The health care plan passed in the House yesterday without a single Republican vote.

Fifty percent (50%) of voters say they’re less likely to vote this November to reelect a member of Congress who votes for the health care plan.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi remains by far the most unpopular congressional leader, but negatives for Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and House Minority Leader John Boehner have reached or matched their highest levels in a year.

But then 60% of voters believe neither Republican political leaders nor Democratic political leaders have a good understanding of what is needed today.

You were taken over by masshats...or is it assmats, I get the order confused.
All those who moved out of mass after that last health care 30% increase thats about to go to another 30%.

I live in mass right now. I wish I lived in NH... or maybe I don't. Christ, what a mess.

Yipeeeee! :puke: Why are people so stupid!

Why are people so stupid!

Good question.

Here's my take, there will some of the folks who voted "aye" that will not be re-elected, but there will be plenty more that will retain office. American's attention span is seven minutes, the time between commercials on a sitcom. This will be long forgotten, or another crises du jour will occur between now and November.

Jeff is correct, this isn't over. What can you do when you live in a state where all three of the representatives voted your position? Why vote them out?

Kastein, did the representative of your congressional district vote in oposition to the health plan? If they did, where's your beef? That person reprented you.

I want a National Health Care plan, not sure this is the one, but I believe that it is in the best interest of this country to have a healthy & well educated workforce. From what was reported on the radio during my commutes today my family will benefit. My 24 & 25 yo daughters will continue on my plan even after they graduate from school. My oldest daughter with a pre-existing condition will be able to get health care.

Wow. I never thought I'd see the day. I've always watched the US from up here with such respect and awe. I've always been fascinated by your different laws and culture. We are so close and yet so different. Things that would happen here would never have been tolerated by citizens of your country. Americans are fascinating people. But there have always been states like CA that make you seem more like Canada than I thought, yes that is a slam. Don't get me wrong, I love my country, but the fact is that we live under the blanket of protection you provide. Some over here are fooled into thinking that we don't need protection because we are so loved world wide, but that's just a fallacy. Islamic jihadists hate freedom, not the US.
I believe that you have started down a slippery slope here and if there is not a massive uprising in November you will not recover. The Dems are not doing this out of a sense of caring and love for the American people, far from it. It is the thin edge of the wedge, the start of MORE control over a massive part of the American economy. I'm afraid there are ulterior motives here, power and control. I always looked on you as a bastion of freedom, this is something I thought I would never see. I'm not trying to be melodramatic but I fear for your future. I've always had faith in the American people, this is bad. Mr. Boatwrench, don't let them lull you into a false sense of security, this is not in the best interest of your daughters or anyone else. It's nefarious, and dangerous. You have started down a path that can't be undone unless the American people do an about face and quick. I realize that this was done against the will of the people, and it couldn't have been pushed through in a more underhanded manner, so I'm hopeful. All I can do is hope and pray that the America I knew and loved reemerges this November, otherwise I honestly believe it's the beginning of the end of the USA as a superpower. And don't forget what happens when you sleep with an elephant, sometimes that elephant rolls over, our economies are so entwined that we would definitely go down in flames with you. All the best, and God Bless America.

TK,

Thanks for the perspective. I know I won't be voting for my Representative this November. Not over health care but over the fact I want a COMPLETE change of government, I am tired of the career politicians.

Well said.

The bill that is pending to be signed by Obama is a mass of tax increases, special interest bribes, expanded government control and spending, with a shiny wrapper and a pretty bow on top and a card that reads "Healthcare Reform".

A box full of dog crap doesn't stink any less if wrapper on the outside says "Milk Chocolate."
