I was wondering if a few of you fine folk out there may have any tips/advice on
installing a VHF/UHF antenna? What works the best and such I have a Kenwood TH-F6 I'd like to use.

I have a vhf installed in the front storage. NMO mount in the back and a no-ground antenna..

What about a fender mount? Would a firestick be able to work with a 2m thru 70 cm?

I would say the best place for any antenna is in the middle of the roof. A firestick is made for CB bands 10m and also one thing to remember is reflect will kill a strong signal.

I run mine in a hood channel mount. It's a 1/4 wave Tram. CB antennas will not work with VHF/UHF radios. They're meant for CBs. I think Firestik does make a VHF (2m) antenna.

Actually just looked they do. It's listed under "other antennas".

Yeah, center of the roof is the best spot for an antenna. You'd even be better off putting a mag mount on the roof as opposed to like a fender mount.

So I have 3 VHF antennae. 2 are the basic Motorola style 1/4 wave style. The other is a larger one mounted on the tire carrier that I use for my main radio. The idea is to use the roof as a ground plain. I have some interference from the cage but all in all the little antenna works darn well. If you go to larger ones you will need to get into tuning them.
