Hearing a grinding noise when I accelerate from a stop. Only when I'm a little heavy on it though and once I'm moving it wont do it even if I gun it. Only from a stop. Ideas?

Hmm id be happier with bad motor mounts than something in the t-case tranny or rear end. Unfortunately it sounds like its in the drive line I just dont know. And I am. I keep forgetting to change my location on here. Ill do that right meow.

When mine went, the grinding sound was the fan hitting the shroud. It sounded like it was under my feet.

UGH. As always...... we gotta ask for rig info.
What year, engine, trans, lift, t-case, axles, etc......
If you have an '84-'90 and still have the disco front axle, it may be the sleeve making contact with the axle splines due to a bad actuator.
