Depends on what you mean "Cover our trails" A quick glance at Garmin Mapsource Metroguide for North America shows Doran and Oddessa Canyons in Calico, part of the John Bull Trail in Big Bear. So what exactly are you looking for? A lot of the trails are shown with FS route numbers or local names.
If you want something that's more versatile (but more complicated.) Check out Fugawi's Global Navigator. It doesn't inherrently have any maps but will import just about anything commercially available or anything you can scan into your computer (color scans of maps up to 36x48 are fairly cheap.) Most government maps are free (this includes the USGS topos (http://svinetfc4.fs.fed.us/) and NOAA RNC charts.) I've used this extensivelly for sailing and four wheeling.
I did some research on this a bit. I didn't want to spend to much money but I wanted Topo mapping. http://www.memory-map.com/
I can run it on my laptop or my PDA. yes it has a PDA version.
25k detail USGS topomaps. buy the state and I think the software is included with it or something like that.
It does breadcrumb mapping, ploting, tracing and 3-D replay... it can do Elevation details and a bunch of other cool stuff.
you can even replay a section of trail and save it as an AVI or something. It was well worth the money.
