Got me thinking we could use a thread to identify the little "hole in the wall" places where you can get really good grub!

Shari and I went to City Pub (south west side of Hampden and Yosemite by Wendy's) a couple days back........

They have these rediculously good Blueberry Habanero BBQ wings that I just couldn't get enough of!

Their burgers were awesome.

Total biker dive, but stupid-good food.

The Sedalia Grill... in Sedalia... is awesome. Great food, great atmosphere (another biker dive bar). Owner is a friend of a friend, great guy.

virgilios pizzeria off 470/kipling...great pizza but AMAZING garlic knots..cool place and cute staff. some really unique options and prices are average too
lots of tv's and music playing but neither are overwhelming or in the way. its easy to be there and not notice either are there...

-Kay's Dairy in Buena Vista (family tradition to eat there whenever we go to B.V.)

-Parrot's, they have some of the best smoked wings. They're also across the street from me so bonus, no DUI possible.

The Lil'Ricci's Pizza (they have a few locations) by me at Broadway and C-470 has great pizza and calzones. Sports bar atmosphere. Damn near all the waitresses are OMG gorgeous...... I believe cleaveage is a job requirement.......:looney:

I'll have to check that place out :D
Is it that pizza place in that little shopping center area on the NW corner of Broadway and County Line?

Nope, across the street from Boston's and CB & Potts.

I had the best Italian food at this place.

Buon Appetito

Oh wait, did you mean in Colorado?

O'Malley's in Palmer Lake -- grill your own burger/steak, sit on the deck and enjoy. Hole in the wall bar that's been there for 40-some years.

Grill your own??? I go out to eat so I don't have to cook.

Does O'Malleys have a dishwashing bar so you can clean up after yourself too??? ;)

only for cheap bastages like you skipping out on your bill! The grill is groovy, its inside in the middle of the bar with a massive hood, and a bunch of spices. They'll grill it for you, ya know, if'n you're lazy... ;)

Moe's is a good spot!! Its part of the old bowling alley on Broadway next to the gothic theater. live music on some nights too. Oh and Santiago's is where your talking about. I would say THE best take-out Mexican in town!

So I'm going with jimgrms suggestions. Just a few of the great spots in the "wood"...

Rico's...
El tepejuan...
etc...

El Tapatio at Hamden and Wadsworth has great authentic Mexican dishes, and you get tons of food. Their salsa is spicy! For those of you that like Bloody Mary's or red beer - ask for a michelada with your beer of choice. I have tried many things on their menu and its all been great, but their Ceviche is exceptional. I think there is another one in Lakewood too.

Thanks for the correction

X2 for Santiago's! We can feed the whole crew (4), tip, and get out the door for around $50.

If we need a treat, we head to El Jalisciense1 at 4105 Wadsworth for the Especialldades de Camaron. With drinks and tip (again, X4) we're looking pretty close to a Franklin to get out the door. Friday is Mariachi night. :)

A close second is Tequilas in Golden. http://www.tequilasmexres.net/locations.html

For subs, we hit D'Deli in downtown Golden. http://www.ddelisubs.com/

For breakfast, or a family style dinner, we hit the Apple Ridge Cafe. Good food, huge portions, reasonable prices. BRING CASH!!! http://www.yelp.com/biz/apple-ridge-cafe-wheat-ridge

Another breakfast favorite is Davie's Chuck Wagon Diner on Colfax. It's cheap, it's good, it's fast, and the place is way too cool to be a franchise. http://www.davieschuckwagon.com/1.html

More later... :)
