Putting a clutch in my 1990 XJ 4.0 AX-15 and also replacing the original flywheel. FSM calls for new flywheel bolts and thread locker (thanx to 5-90 for info on breaking the old bolts loose). Does anyone know if the ring gear should also be replaced? The original has over 300,000 miles on it, but it looks good, no damaged teeth. Flywheel is a different story though, it's really a mess. Service manual doesn't say to replace the ring gear with the flywheel, so I guess it's OK to reuse it. Just wanted to make sure. TIA for any advice.
