As the title implies, I am going to make an adapter to install my Renix EGR onto the newer intake.
The Why: I am PCS'ing again (twice in 5 months...:gonnablow) and the new State requires visual and tailpipe (idle and load). I am also tired of seeking out the less desirable inspection centers that will pass anything for cash.
Since I cannot change my VIN from 1989 to anything in the non EGR range, I have to create a legal fix.
The WHAT: A simple block of metal (billet or aluminum?) that will mimic what the old intake did and will mount a few inches below the vacuum port on the new intake using the existing threaded holes.
Thoughts? I am heading out to find metal today, have no clue in the fort lee area where to get some, so it should be an adventure.
