Colin Powell endorses Obama

Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with you people? Why in the hell do you people try and find fault with everyone that doesn't agree with you?

"Powell was responsible for us not finishing the job the first time. . . blah blah blah. . . it's all about race. . . blah blah blah"

You blockheads are the prime example of the ignorant group mentality that has plagued the world and led to religious/political/younameatrocities that normal people vilify and find repulsive. Go crawl back under the rock that you came from.

Powell is one of the reasons we didn't finish the war in Iraq the fist time we were there. Cause he is a political pussy.

Um...what??? You have now made 3 completely stupid posts in this thread...

As for our other "dispute" - Powell said himself that he is not itching to get a job - but that he'd "listen" to any President who offered him a job. It isn't about a step down or step up - the man isn't looking to "advance" in politics, if he was, he would have run for President when the GOP pushed him to.

AGAIN

Because he is retired 4 star, he would be best suited as SecDef, IMO....

Wow a whole 30? Out of all of the hundreds or maybe thousands who are out there...?

They are the outcasts. I'd venture to guess that 90%+ of the military sides with Republicans....

Sorry but that was the largest single concentration of US Admirals and US Generals I had ever seen in my 53 years, and I had never seen that sort of solidarity display by so many retired US Generals and Admirals on a national party Convention stage before. Just how many living, retired, Admirals and Generals do we have right now?

SO that just means that when Obama takes our country and hands it over to muslim rule and to Sunni or Shia law we will have some military backing to make sure we all comply.

:bs:

Not sure how to find how many retired Generals there are but here is active duty Generals as of 31 Aug 2008.

Brig General/R Admiral (L): 462
Maj General/R Admiral (U): 274
Lt General/Vice Admiral: 147
General/Admiral: 38
Total: 921

If there is that many on active duty, I would imagine there are a lot more that are retired. 30 is a drop in the bucket.

This is from McCains website, I couldn't find anything that wasn't linked to his site.

It is a list of General officers that are supporting McCain. Powell is a big name and thats why its getting a lot of press.

http://www.johnmccain.com/Informing/News/PressReleases/7c90f271-3000-4f2d-8bdc-d79cd19ae676.htm

All retired on that list. I did not count them, but the web site says about 250. That leaves 921-250 (apx), some not retired? Now I wonder Obama's site lists.

I still say that I was shocked to see apx 30 (hell it might have been 45?) at the convention on the stage. I have never seen anything like that in a political campaign before. That is about 5%, who traveled to the convention and stood on the stage making a statement.

You are right, we should adopt a more European attitude in the way we handle ourselfs. I mean, its worked so well for them.

The 921 are General officers that are currently on active duty. The General officers from the McCain website are all retired.
Active duty service members can support a canidate, but they can not use their military rank with their name if they do. There is a rule for it in the UCMJ.

he's gotten the nod from the messiah, he will get a job. I'm so glad. you blockheads will soon learn. The fairness doctrine, the smear against a plumber for asking a question to a candidate that the intelligencia have chosen to lead us. You will see how ignorant you all are. the redistribution of wealth. It will all be taken care of, universal health care, the top 10% pay over 60% of the tax in America. I feel that is not near enough. They need to be stripped of their wealth so the downtrodden of America can have more. I'm so ready:puke:. For someone as learned as some on these boards to support such a flawed candidate, by flawed I mean communist is amazing. Yes I said communist, I am sick of the wordsmiths. To redistribute wealth is marxist, commie b.s. The only good thing I see about it is, nothing. I vote for Allan Keys. Eco it's good to hear from you.:wave1:

Can we start signing up for this now? I mean, just in case...

What are your plans for this? Just curious, not antagonistic. Are you self-employed?

Only way I can quit paying taxes is to quit my job. Last I checked, they take the taxes out of my pay before they cut the check.

Although,...
If they make welfare really attractive, I suppose I could sign up and go free-lance/cash only.

You don't need to have a job. If shit hits the fan I will be a highwayman. I'll organize a wolfpack to prey on people who have stuff we need. :farmer:

Moab, it just strikes me as asinine that so many people on either side of the political spectrum immediately disregard everything that the other side has to say without looking at the merits of the message. Why is it that anyone with a differing view or opinion that doesn't fit into accepted status qou of the majority view point is immediately dismissed as wrong?
