Chop question

Incredible Hulk

NAXJA Forum User
I am eventually going to be chopping off the top of mine and boxing in the back end as so many others have done. Here is my question. Why wouldnt the tailgate off the XJ itself fit on the back? THe basic measurements I took looked to be really dang close. So, is it necessary to do the MJ transfer, or would it work to just take off the rear gate and reuse it? Curious.....
