Cabo Engineering "Anti-Rock" rear sway bar

Finally got it done.
The main bar is 3/4" X 45" AMS6418 (Hy Tuff) and the arms are 1/2" X 1.25" X 15" 1018. The assembly was then case hardened to a 48 RC.
Took up far less interior space than I first feared it would.

I'm using standard pillow block type bearings on the outside and Cabo Eng split pillow blocks on the inside of the arms to keep everything straight.

The connecting links are 3/4" X 41" hex stainless.

Initial feelings are nice. Handles much better on the street. Far less leaning in turns.
Saturday we'll see how it does on the trail.

My favorate line came from Rick that year.

Monday morning, from me, "I don't really know what to do with this thing(my jeep). I want to do this kind of terrain but I should have started with an older, cheaper XJ. This one's just too nice to put it through this stuff."

Tuesday afternoon, from Rick, "Well, guess you took care of that problem." :laugh2:

Well, after following Brad around Badlands yesterday, the anti-rock bar made a vast improvement in reducing body lean . Good job Brad ...

Exceeded my expectations.
All the flex without the tippiness.
I'm finally happy with the performance of the suspension.
THIS is why I linked it in the first place.
If I'd done this sooner I'd still have my right front fender/header panel intact.

Entire assembly.
Hardening the main shaft was the most important part.
That's what gives it the springiness.

I rebuild hydraulic cylinders for the steel mills.
Several of them use bellows to protect the rods when extended.
A local company custom builds them for me.
Kinda pricy but they keep the Indiana mud out and gives everything a more finished look.
Now I've got to get a set made for the swaybar links.

you rebuild hydraulic cylinders for a living and you didn't use them rather than air-shocks for your rear suspension? I'm disappointed.
