gather all the pieces and glue it back together When I did mine, I filed down the ridges on the metal piece, then I threaded it and then I used a nut to push down on the spring and I glued the button with epoxy on top of it all.
When mine broke, it had it fixed at the dealer, $89 if I remember right. Took the old brake lever home and made a button out of a piece of aluminum, drilled the hole and filled with epoxy, set on the rod and now it's a spare...
