got a used 8274 off another board for 500
couldnt be happier with it!
its not pretty being older than the jeep, but performance is second to none.

guess it depends on what your needs are

A lot of Haterism going on in here but ill comment anyway .

My 8274 is about 30 years old and it ran fine when i got it.
It was easy to rebuild (just to freshen it up) and i expect it to run another 30 years .

I have 1.5 xrc8s because I bought one for $100 (owner took it apart to regrease it, couldn't get it back together, got tired of looking at the pile of parts) and a broken parts-only one for $50. For what I have into it, I'm pretty happy... not sure I'd pay full price for one though.

I vote fix the warn, so I guess I'm glad you already decided to go that route.
