Carrol Shelby's '66 Super Snake :worship: just went for $5 million- a new all time record for the auction.

Pretty incredible. Holy retirement fund Batman huh? Carrol builds a car for himself, gets a few magazines to feature it, then he puts it on ice for a few years...... and the Shelby family is sitting very pretty.

But it still never ceases to amaze me what people will spend their money on...... the car before that was a new Shelby 500 and was sold for $600K for charity. I'd have liked to see the $5M go toward that.

The guy that bought that Cobra, Ron Pratt and the Red Ferrari Hat guy - Alan Lewenthal are buyers for museums. Alan works for the Gateway Colorado Automobile Museum..... I think I may have to cruise up there sometime.
