Where are the airbag sensors located on a 2000? I'm thinking about mounting a set of off-road lights on the bumper and on the directions say to make sure the sensors aren't in the bumper.
There are no air bag sensors on the bumper. The sensor should be under your center console (or at least relocated there by re-call). There is a ball shaped vacuum canister that is located behind the bumber, on the passenger side, sort of beneath the head light (as a point of reference)...
It's there to assist with some of the vacuum controlled functions such as HVAC, cruise control, etc. Definately keep it attached. You can always relocated it to a better location.
You should be able to see it or feel it from underneath. It's black and about the size of a softball.
Click this Link .... it's for a Tomken bumper install, but should help you in removing your front bumper, plus it shows you the vacuum ball (4th small pic down). Click on the pics at the site, for a larger view...
