Actual vs. listed tire size

Update: I just measured a new looking 30x9.5 BFG/AT/KO at 29 inches diameter. So a nominally 30 inch tire is 29.5 inches on BFG's spec chart and 29 inches in reality.

Guess that's how business works these days.

Most radials run 1"-2" shorter than listed size. Most bias tires run actual to 1" shorter than listed size. It's always been this way, with occasional brands being an exception and running true to size. My 35" x 12.5" x 15" MTRs measure out at 34.5" at 32 psi with weight on wheels.

At ~28 lbs. pressure, on the vehicle with the vehicle on the ground, my 235/75/r15 BFG ATs measure exactly 27.8" tall. They did actually measure 29" on the stock 15x7 cast aluminum wheels before they were mounted.
