87 Comanche

First, let me say that I did read the rules that this forum is for SoCal Chapter members. I signed up here a long time ago, but switched to Toyota’s for a long time so I haven’t been active. Forgive me if I’m breaking the rules.

I JUST bought this 87 MJ off CL up in Visalia (some of you may have seen it), with the intent of fixing it up a little and making it my part time daily driver/mild wheeler, but last night my wife fell off the wagon and did some damage at a casino. Gotta pay the bills so it’s right back up for sale.
As I mentioned, I just got this so I don’t really know all that much about it.

87 Comanche shortbed 4x4, 4.0L automatic. PO told me that it was an HO engine out of a 97. I do not know how to tell the difference.
PO claimed the following: 4.10’s in the axles, front Detroit, TerraLow 4:1 T-Case gears. I have not verified ANY of that info so for the purposes of my sale I’m assuming it is all FALSE until proven. If any of it is real, then that’s a bonus.

I can tell that it DOES have a Dana 44 rear (tag says 3:54 gear), 5”-6”? lift of unknown origin, UCA’s look stock, LCA’s are adjustable.
33” Procomp’s with maybe 20%-30% (fronts are better than the rears) on SIX lug wheels with adapters (extra width).

The bed is a little rough along the rails and floor, no rust though. Someone obviously tried to fix up the pass side with bondo. Rattle can black paint that is already coming off over factory white. Interior is fair with bad carpet and ok tan bench seat.

Drove it home ~300 miles without issue. The coolant bottle is cracked however, and it has started to run a little warm around town. Vac rez is missing so front disco doesn’t work and vents only work though defrost. AC system looks all there but isn’t blowing cold.

This could still be a nice truck with some TLC. Shortbed Comanche’s are getting hard to find in any condition.

Pictures the PO sent me. I’ll try to get some better ones up tonight.

$2400 OBO
Located in San Jacinto.
Thanks.

Forgot to add. Currently registered. I have the title but it's not in my name. PO told me it would pass smog, but I do not have a smog cert from him and haven't had time to have it checked myself.

how far are you from me I have 2 grand in my hand right now.....

if not i will take it off his hands, I need another toy! lol

I told tone's buddy last night that I would hold it for him till Sat afternoon/eve, but if he can't make it happen by then I'm on to the next person. Will let you know.

I'm gonna be driving this home for my buddy tomorrow, does it have any problems at fwy speeds like death wobble, braking, or lights? Anything I wanna know besides the cooling issue so we don't get on the road and have issues? Just asking so I can come prepared.. :)
