4 Low wont Engage properly

did all that, still acting crazy. I think the selector fork pads are shot.

Contact tech support and get their input.

Sounds like the t-case is bad and the Factory shift lever has the wrong bend on it, affecting the geometry of the throw.......

I'm trying to adjust the linkage on my 242 using Joe's instruction on this thread. The rod slides freely in the adjuster mechanism (called a trunion, I think), and I can move the shift lever on the TC with large Channellock pliers. (Mine are actual Channellock brand, so that's what I call 'em.) But the lever does not feel as if it's shifting anything when I move it, and it moves right back to its prior position in part-time 4 wheel drive (4-high) as soon as I let it go. Is it supposed to shift into 4-low and stay there when I move the lever forward? Should I feel a noticeable internal "shifting" in the TC when I move the lever?
