I'm going to bring this back up. Anyone out in MI that could check this out and see if it really is a 4 speed auto that's behind the 2.5?

I own an 85 wagoneer wit the carb 2.5. I did a tranny and tranfer case swap a few months back and it only took me and my buddy an afternoon to do it in my cramped garage. The donor truck was an 84. The 904 tranny is simple and strong enough for the four cylinder in my opinion. The only reason the swap took place is because I blew the tranny line and burnt up the tranny. The tranfer case the previous owner wrecked. It is select trac and would not shift anymore it would just sit there and grind even with me pulling on the linkage hard!! I picked up and newly rebuilt tranny and tranfer case for $100.00. Lucky deal!!! Like already mentioned it a simple tranny because not much electronics.
