1989 Cherokee Pioneer 2DR for sale

Location

Up for sale is an '89 2 door Cherokee Pioneer.
Located in the Alsip area.
2.5L 4 cylinder engine
Manual Transmission
Manual selective 4WD
159,341
$800

The Good
Engine has all new pistons and rings, 2 of 4 cylinders were milled and redone within the last 1,000 miles. Engine runs very well.
Interior is clean, as old carpet was replaced with a basic upgrade piece. All seats are covered.
Brand new clutch kit put in
Full size spare tire AND doughnut included
Power window kit (uninstalled) for the car is included.
Brand new driver and passenger front seatbelts
Exhaust system and cat. converter are only a year old.
Towing wiring is new.

The Bad
Time for a new battery
Transmission is not the original 5 speed. At some point a previous owner replaced it with a 4 speed.
Typical midwest exterior rust for a 21 year old car
Interior was painted several times (horribly). I put some vinyl duplicolor over to hide some of the ugly. See pictures.
Roof rack is floppy, definitely was put on from another car
This model never came with A/C

The car runs extremely well right now with the rebuilt engine and new clutch kit. I need to get rid of it in favor of something that can tow regularly, since I'm reluctantly a new camper owner.

Yes, I still have it. All it would need is possibly a jump, unless you have a new battery to stick in it. Otherwise I'm going to try and put it on a charger this weekend and it should be right as rain..... (unless the batteries bad, but it's < 2 yrs old so it better not be)

Resurrecting this post from the dead a bit, but this heep is still for sale. $500 flat. The battery is officially dead, it won't hold a charge, but I can start it with a boost pack and it still drives well.

Flintstone floors, or not bad? This may make a decent gas saver DD with my upcoming job change. Any way you can resize the pics? Can't really see them on my laptop screen.

Would it make a 5 hour trip home, or would it need to be trailered?

The floors only had surface rust when i replaced the carpet, which I wire brushed, then sprayed over with a basic rustoleum enamel coat.

I'll see what I can do about the pics, but resizing that many is kind of a pain in the arse. I'll see if I can direct link them so that the browser auto-sizes for you.

As for the 5 hour trip, you'd certainly need a new battery, but that should be it. It previously made a 5.5 hour trip towing a popup camper, but hasn't been ridden longer than an hour at a time for the last year and a half as i haven't used it much.

PS, I got a few PM inquiries about doing a trade. This is a cash only sale, if I don't "get rid of it" and make some room, it's gonna be my A$$!

Ok. I'm trying to work out how I can come get it, I'll let you know asap. If someone shows up with cash, don't worry about holding it.

Byron, I'm right near him. I could check it out for you, and if need be, keep it here for a few weeks or so if you make the deal.

Hi glumone. John's coming to look at the car tomorrow. If he passes on it, would you like to come check it out on Wednesday? I'll send you a PM with my email and cell.

It's mine now, at least until Byron comes to get it. Got the battery charger on it, we'll see if that does anything.

Oh, and in case anyone was wondering, it does have a transfer case :D

Thanks John, I really appreciate you doing that for me. Looks like I'm back in the XJ game, albeit with a completely different rig than the one I had.
