    WJ Brake/Steering Upgrade

Well, the rig is my daily driver, and there was just too many issues to address to keep it so I've gone to the dark side. 2013, V6 6spd, 4.56's and dealer will swap out the tires for some KM2's

    WJ Brake/Steering Upgrade

I appreciate where you are coming from however... The stock Brakes were totally rebuilt, good pads and shoes, fluid fully bled, I run stainless lines, it's a '97 with the stock booster. That was the first time after going to 33's. It sucked, I dealt with it for a year. I decided to go to rear...

    WJ Brake/Steering Upgrade

Are there clearance issues on a rig with small lift. I'm sitting at 2.5"... running 33x10.50's on stock brakes and it's terrible, going to 35" rubber soon... must improve brakes.

    Failed "Low CG" Build

put the tires on your stock rims (7.5") and all will be good. pushing the wheels away from the hub... when turning makes them arc rather than pivot, thus requiring more room in the wheel well.

    ax-15 hurst shifter woes

ya, the bolts are tight, and I did install the bushing... maybe my bushing was worn, but it sure did not look it... oh well, for $4 I guess ordering a new one is not a big deal. Thanks for the help.

    ax-15 hurst shifter woes

you're talking about the bushing that goes on the "finger" of the shifter and interfaces into the hole in the lug right? maybe I'll have to splurge and order one.

    ax-15 hurst shifter woes

Not at all happy with all the loose play in the shifter once in gear. Stick it in any gear and you can move the lever a few inches forward and back... what the heck? And, on account of the looseness, cruising in 5th gear the lever will rattle like nobody’s business. I saved the plastic bushing...

    too much gear= bad mpg?

objects in motion want to stay in motion... ??? until there is resistance... and a 35" tire has significant rolling resistance and wind resistance when comaperd to a stockish sized tire. It will take more power to keep 35" tires turning, which necessitates(sp?) more air/fuel.

    3" and 33's?

Dang that's a pretty rig. We will have to agree to disagree with regard to stock gearing on 33's :)

    XJ Hurst Shifter

It's installed, all you would see is the lever and factory shift boot. It looks just like what Hurst has on thier website... or summit http://www.hurst-shifters.com/hurst-products/1990-98-Jeep-Wrangler-I6-w-AX-15/BILLET-PLUS-SHIFTER http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HUU-3915042/

    Tire size issues

OME is an Australian(sp?) Company. I once read that in Auz, there are fedral restrictions regarding vehicle (hench lift) heights... and that is why they stick to smaller lifts. Don't know for certain, but that is what I read.
