I did search and read up, just looking for new opinions.
Anyway I got an 01 with 26K miles on it in Feb.
I just hit 30K miles.
I drained and refilled the transfer case with ATF +3.
I pulled the plug and refilled the AW4 with Dex III.
How "good" and "safe" are those auto tranny flushing...
I have been reading a few threads about fenders (search results) and found a few mentions of fiberglass fenders.
There was some good info in there, but I can't find a vendor who makes them for an 01 XJ.
There was a bit of discussion on how to mod the 96 and earlier glass fender to fit an 01...
ok
I'm thinking I should rotate my tires every 3K or so. They are BFG MTs at 32". When they wear out, I will probably go to 33" tires, unless I lock my front d35.
I have 5 of these BFGs with the spare mounted on the same aftermarket wheel, balanced, etc.
So I wonder if I could add it into the...
Been reading search results for "transmission cooler" looking for one to buy.
I've seen lots of warnings that the often-standard "zip tie" mounting method, while easy, can cause radiator problems over time. While not likely, it does seem it could have a sawing effect on the radiator tubes.
So...
Just wondering what are the symptoms to expect?
Due to a bolt on the upper assembly backing out and falling off after a day of wheeling, I had to drive to work disconnected. Slow/stop and go/heavy traffic. Didn't notice anything odd.
Keep it under 40 or so?
Is the big problem sharp turns at...
I don't know much of anything about electronics.
Today, I started up the XJ and glanced down to see "no bus" on the odo and all the gagues dead.
I pulled into the gas station, was gonna get gas anyways. After restarting it went away.
Upon searching "no bus" I got way to many threads to...
Ok, bear with me. I did a search and read a few threads about replacing seals. Most discussion was about inner seals when replacing carrier, etc.
My knowledge on this is very limited, and I had my ride regeared at a well-known shop about 250 miles from where I live about three weeks ago.
At a...
You know those little plastic screw like things that hold the inner fender well plastic guard in place? (they are also used in a few other spots) I removed mine, cut it alll up, and put it back in -- re-used some of the plastic things and some zip ties. I'm going to have to pull the liner again...
Situation:
No outdoor electricity.
Cutting front, and maybe rear fenders.
Re-installing factory flares or going flareless.
Reason:
Rubbing
Question:
Would a good pair of snips be good enough to do the trim?
Or would a better solution be a cordless "Dremel" tool? I've never owned one, but...
Just wondering about something. Maybe some of you guys can comment.
My rig is in dire need of several components now that the "hard stuff" is done. It's nekkid underneath, heh.
So as I look at and shop for engine, tcase, and gas tank skids; front and rear bumpers; and rock rails, I noticed...
The URL is here

I searched about T-Case skids with this set up, but didn't find the answer here or elsehwere.
I mailed them because I didn't see how other vendors' T-Case skids would work with this product.
The answer was that they are working with a...
Ok, so I'm web shopping for some XJ bumpers. I keep running across fine print that says "shipped freight" and some even say "customer responsible for unloading."
I'm kinda stupid, but that seems to mean they are not using UPS or some other common carrier and that some truck is just going to...
I live in Nothern VA, right by DC.
Seems the sign up text said we go both ways, heh, meaning SE or NA chapter.
Just wondering, saw a few VA posts in the SE forum.
Thx.
SEMA has a page here

I did a search here on...
Newbie alert.
Search disclaimer -- did it, not much discussion about weight of various aftermarket bumpers and how they may or may not impact the general "ride" of a vehicle -- plenty of results comparing brands
Ok, pretend you are a newbie and you decided on an RE 4.5 lift with all the...
I searched a few terms, and the closest thread was this one...
http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=46690&highlight=gear+oil
I've also read elsewhere about "burn in" or something like that. In general people say after the gear swap, drive it about 30 miles, check the diffs (and drain...
Vehicle in Question is an 01 XJ
Plan is RE 4.5, TW SYE/CV. 4.56, 32s.
I'm looking at three brands of shocks right now.
I'd like your opinons
= The Rubicon Express Shocks
- I read some problems with them, but they seem to have corrected what it was. Search resulted in one hit talking about...
