Mine was a 78, gold, with gold wheels, and the big ole eagle sticker on the hood. It had nutmeg colored Levis seats but who knows if they were original. 304, T-150, Dana 20 TC, AMC 20/Dana 30. Loved that thing but I had to sell it several years ago.

They don't haul them out. On days when no ones around they haul them over to the stream and dump 'em! The last time I was there all they had were some scranky old outhouses. Maybe there's some kind of large capacity septic system hidden behind the scenes where they dump the porta-johns.

The 4.0 survived through the '06 model year in the TJ so it couldn't have been that god awful bad! I think they canned the XJ because they were worried that the Liberty wouldn't sell! The XJ had classic good looks that survived more than a decade without any real changes to the exterior...

I'm starting to think that the days of the cheap XJ are waning. So many guys are discovering that it makes a great wheeler and it's driving the prices up. CJ's are outrageous now and even YJ's are high, IMHO. You can find TJ's for decent prices but that'll change too.

Speaking of EMP, has anyone tried running a 4.0 with a points style ignition and a carb? Seems pretty simple to machine an adapter plate for the carb but the distributor is a little more difficult.
