Whats the highest miles you've seen on...anything?

What year? Engine? Original tranny & axles? Just curious because the one I listed in my first post was all original powertrain/drivetrain.

Whats the highest miles you've seen on...anything?

Just thought this would be interseting. I was going to limit this to passenger vehicles, but then I thought that some of you guys probably have (or know of) things like over-the-road semis, machinery, farm tractors, etc with high miles/hours on them. Here goes... Passenger vehicle: 99 or 00...

    No go under hard acceleration

Could be a dying fuel pump too. That could explain the lack of power at higher speeds/engine loads.

best plugs/ wires/ cap and rotor?

Go to your local dealership parts department and get a tune-up kit for a 4.0L. It consists of a distributor cap, rotor and a set of exact fit OEM plug wires. If you have a good relationship with the parts department staff, you might get lucky and get it at just over dealer cost.(What the...

Jeeps dont seem to like high RPM's

Hmm... I've had mine out to "h" before it hit the speed limiter. (Yeah, like the "h" in km/h at the bottom of the speedo) I'd have to guess it was around 120 or so. I was on a nice, long, slightly downhill, straight stretch of road messing with a coworker on the way home one day. It felt...

    low gas light question?

I can attest to this being fairly true (at least for mine). One day last week, I was about half way to work (15 miles of a 30 mile trip) when my gas light came on. I drove the 15 miles to work and then the 30 back home and then stopped for gas; I put in 19.1 gallons. I reset the EVIC right...

I love my Bridgestone REVOs, but...

The problem with my situation is that I bought them from a wholesale tire place and mounted and balanced them myself, so they're not even warrantied. At the time, I thought "these tires are so great that I don't need to worry about a warranty so I'm not going to pay somebody to mount and...

I love my Bridgestone REVOs, but...

As far as pressure goes, 35psi is working well based on contact patch appearance of the wet tires driving onto a dry garage floor. Also, they are wearing perfectly even across the tire, not more in the centers as if they were overinflated. I'm starting to think I got a set of reject tires here...

I love my Bridgestone REVOs, but...

...they are wearing really fast. Size: P235/70R16 Inflation: 35psi With just over 8k on them, they have worn from 13/32" down to 9/32". I rotate them regularly, keep 'em properly inflated, and I aligned it when I put the tires on(so I know it was done right). My daily commute (5 or 6 days a...

    Squeak. Bearings, brake pads????

Could be a bad wheel bearing, or maybe a dried up u-joint squeaking.

Important steps in changing the AW4

Just FYI, dry fill capacity for the AW4 is around 9 quarts total including torque convertor. Dumping a quart or so in the TC before installation isn't a bad idea at all. Good luck

    Reccomend me some speakers

Yeah, I'm leaning towards Pioneers. Just wanna to hear what others have to say.

    Reccomend me some speakers

After 8 years, my factory speakers are starting to sound pretty tired. So naturally, it's time to upgrade. Now I'm not looking to rattle any teeth, I just want some speakers with a rich, full-bodied sound. If I correctly understand the other posts that I read, 6 1/2's can be made to fit the...

    Another AW4 Question?

The throttle position sensor would be suspect. It's on the throttle body and sends a variable voltage signal to the transmission control unit based on throttle position to control shift points. If it's a little gunked up, it could be sending the wrong signal and messing with the shift points...

    Tow Measurement? Alignment question

Our alignment machine at work specifies +0.20 degrees of total toe with a tolerance of 0.07 degrees either way. So anywhere from +0.13 to +0.27 is "acceptable" However, with my toe set at +0.20, the outside edges of my old tires were noticeably more worn than the inside edges, even with...

    What kind of brew?

Thats cool to hear what everybody likes. To be honest, I've never even heard of some of that stuff, like FatTire, Trout river, Sierra Nevada, etc... I guess I should've specified bottles, cans, or whatever-I-can-get-my-hands-on. For me it's usually bottles, unless the particular establishment...

    What kind of brew?

So, I'm sitting here working on a pretty good buzz and I'm thinking; we all have different tastes when it comes to vehicles (other than the obvious interest), whats everybodys taste as far as brew goes? I'm not trying to start a pissing fight over what beer everybody thinks is good and what...

    2000 XJ - Gas tank anti-siphoning screen?

It's not a screen, it's actually a check ball. It's located in the end of the filler tube in the tank. If you ever hear a rattling/gurgling coming from the gas tank when you're between 3/4 and full, it's the check ball moving back and forth in the filler tube.

    Do I need...

...the inspection cover for the flexplate/TC? I just swapped trannys (AW4 to AW4) due to some internal mechanical problems that I was having with the other one. I've been driving it for a few days when I pulled in the garage the today and happened to glance over in the corner by the trash can...

    AW4 pilot bushing (?)

It's steel, there's no hole through it, and looking at those pictures it most definitely is the tip of the torque convertor. I guess this could have been causing the noise that I thought was a cracked flexplate rattling. Now what the hell caused that to break off?? lol
