Engine Swap; remove with trans or no?

With a front clip off helps and the radiator out of course. Will your AC condenser be left on? You can lower your front end also to help with egress. Transmission left on is less stuff to mess with under the Jeep.

    Advice on contact pattern

My complements to you as well. Two air actuated lockers is impressive. DIY work isn't new to me as I've owned it since 2003. The gear set is new. It is exactly the same 4 56: as was previously installed, minus a True Trac carrier. The pinion depth remains the same and without a shim. The...

    Advice on contact pattern

A compare contrast photo. Has some gear whine and pinion pre-load is tight, although I'm going to run it 500mi. and re-do it. It is the 8.25" rear with 4 56: gear set, wanted to show.:)

If you decide to hack-n-tap your NP 231 it'd be a good time to replace that stretched chain.

    "Wrong" Rear Main Seal

:peace:If you didn't put the pan back up yet, remove the bearing caps plus connecting rod nuts to drop your crank. Put another RMS half on and bolt it up as usual. I've done a couple of these and it is "drudgery". I'll have to redo my pan gasket again because I didn't refit the dang girdle...

Radiator Fan Override Switch (The Easy Way)

Yes, don't guess when doing electrical work. Should Mr. Simon switch #2 and #3 on the switch, a fuse could be blown, or circuit breaker tripped. If it did happen to ruin the switch he'd be able to start over. Buy a new switch, one that doesn't offer up a confusing wiring scheme.:dunno: 4 amps...
