I've got my belt off waiting for my new alternator to come in the mail. Wile poking around I noticed that the power steering pump shaft has a little play in. Is this normal? Everything else like the AC compressor is super tight with no wiggle at all. My 99 has also made a slight whistling sound...
Took the alt and battery into the parts store and had them tested. Battery is fine. Alt tested ok but squawked a bit. Figured I'd do like Pelican did and replace the bearings and bushings. Kits are only like 30bucks. Wile getting the alt part numbers I noticed that the front of the housing has a...
Update:
Tested with my meter and it was fine. However it's always been at 13.98v but recently it's occasionally been in the mid 14v range Then on Saturday the belt squealed a bit and my lights dimmed. The volt gauge went way down. Then it shot up to over 14v. Same thing just happened tonight...
You will almost always get a better deal from a private party NOT from a dealer. Where i live $5500 for that year and millage is a good price. "Pay" to have a local shop that specialized in Jeeps check it out. If it checks out and you determine it to be a good value for your area then talk...
If I were a lot smarter and a lot less brave I'd delete that story. Oh man it pains me to read it. Don't drink and type! But I did say have a laugh on me!
1. I'm a guy into girl. All my mountain/road bikes all have girl names. They break down a lot and require a lot of maintenance. However...
This thread is for you guys out there who haven't driven a newer mini van.
Top ten reasons my mom's mini van rocks!

17-20 with 355's and 39's! Ummm...........I wouldn't take too much stock in what the gentleman had to say. Then again maybe he's using a flux-capacitor in series with a naquadah reactor to supplement his 4.0L.
On my 99 with 130k when idling if I turn on my X2 100w kc's and key my 12amp draw ham rig my factory volt meter dose dip a little bit. No headlight dim though. It dose not come back up unless I rev it up to 3k or un-key the mic. I don't "think" it used to do this. With switching on the kc's it...
At 10pm I finished getting my D30 shafts with new u-joints/hub back in. You know I "thought this was going to be easy." Why do jeeps haft to be just as much fun/trouble as girls?
Befoure even starting I jacked up my 99 XJ "Bodhi" to check the rear drums for wear. They were fine. Unfortunately...
About to order some stock height springs/shocks for my saggy rear 99 XJ. I have a full size spare on a steel wheel and keep a toolbox in the back. I also load it up to go camping at times. I don't have a winch or cool bumper on the front. Any suggestions on springs/shocks?
This is what I was...
6.5's will fit as well. Just drill a new mounting hole. I'm with GregGA on using the Polk marine speakers. You live in Portland so you know the difference between "regular waterproof and "OREGON" water proof) They did not make XJ's "OREGON" water proof. My hatch has leaked, my heater core has...
Just put the cover back on my d30 rtv and all. No oil yet though. I forgot to put this little thing back on the let side of my diff cover, under the bolts. (see pic) Did I shoot myself in the foot? Is it going to leak? Forgive me I'm a diff oil change virgin...
Thanks glad to be here. I was a member on another jeepish forum for years but it's gotten hard to get real answers there. Mostly just yappy-snappy-rude comments on there nowadays. Not enough real info in the tech forums. Every time I use google looking for answers for my XJ issues NAXJ comes...
Had a neighbor with a press put in some new spicer x760's in my 99's D30hp. The old UJ's were very hard to get out. One of them came out in peaces. Anyway the c-clips would not go in. So he ground on the ends of the yokes just enough to get them in. Oh man I should have just taken the shafts to...
