just had the same issues on a 93 and the last thing i checked turned out to be the issue. try unplugging your brake light switch and see if the issue is resolved. Mine was partialy cracked open and was not letting the tcu to unlock the torque converter. possibly cracked from foot going to high...

I had the same issue on my 89 and found out that the asd (auto shut down) relay was not getting power, I used a jumper to test and the jeep started right up. I then attached the power wire going to the relay to a switched ignition source and it has been fine since

As for the bezel, 1993 was the only year that the 231 came in the zj. Might look for one of those for the bezel. NOT true I just scapped a 1995 zj with 231 in it, if the trim for the shifter is the same as a 95 I have the trim you would need ie: 2wd, 4wd high and 4wd low pm me if interested in it

Ok so my son was going to school yesterday and some a!!hole decided he was not going to stop for the stop sign and hit my son doing about 45 mph, sent my son into 3 complete spins in the middle of the road. So now I am waiting for the adjuster to contact us and think they are going to get away...

my 89 did the same thing and come to find out the harness was bad and fried the ecu. I ran new wiring from the ecu to the injectors and got a used ecu from wrecking yard and all has been well for about 2 years now. the ecu was $30 at the jy.
